On the second episode of “Let’s Talk Horses,” Dr. Rebecca Wara-Goss sits down with Sharon Cabana, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in animal-assisted therapy, trauma, eating disorders, and holistic mental health. Her work with animal-assisted therapy focuses on spiritual horsemanship and the integration of neurobiology with spiritual counseling and care. Dr. Rebecca Wara-Goss and Sharon Cabana discuss experiences as practitioners in equine-assisted therapy, the journey of eating disorder recovery, the power of horses in recovery, animal-human bonds, and spiritual counseling. Sharon brings forth personal stories that elevate the discussion and leads to an authentic and genuine conversation. Next, Sharon discusses that we tend to think we are thinking beings that sometimes feel; however, we are feeling beings that sometimes think. Plus, Sharon Cabana discusses mindfulness, horsemanship skills, soul connection, and mind-body-spirit within equine-assisted therapy. Dr. Rebecca Wara Goss and Sharon Cabana close out the podcast by discussing how to reach out, become involved, and ways to contact– we would love to hear from you!
